The video animation „Biomass in Future Landscapes“ shows future landscapes as they are to be expected through the cultivation of biomass. The structures of the plantations, e.g. as linear structures („alley-cropping“), are shown in time travel from bird and pedestrian perspectives. The video is based on a virtual 3D model generated from geodata such as a terrain model, land use and vegetation surveys and cropping data. Detailed 3D plants create an impressive vegetation cover.

The final film is captured and rendered with a virtual camera movement and flight through the 3D model. The video was first shown at the international conference „Biomass for Future Landscapes“ on 31 March and 01 April 2009 in Berlin.
