For a planned wind farm repowering in Altefähr on the island of Rügen, Lenné3D has created visualisations as an expert. The aim of the visualisations is to support the assessment of visual impairments of the city of Stralsund caused by the higher wind turbines. The historic old town of Stralsund and its city silhouette are not only under monumental protection but also became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in June 2002.
Within the framework of the repowering, it is planned to dismantle a total of 8 of the 9 existing wind turbines of Nordtank and to replace them with 4 powerful turbines. The main purpose of the expert visualisations is to clarify whether the repowering will have an impact on the appearance and experience of historic Stralsund. The repowering project was visualised with the Vestas model V90 with a hub height of 105 metres.
The visualisations were created for everyday perspectives using the proven photo-based simulation. With high atmospheric and spatial accuracy, this method ensures that the visualisations are as close as possible to human perception. Some of the photo locations pick up visual relationships from another survey to create comparability, and important additional perspectives were added.
