As part of the BMBF-funded cooperation project „Berlin Sculpture Network – Contextualisation and Translation of Ancient Sculpture“, Lenné3D created vegetation studies and 3D plant models as well as 3D landscape visualisations for project partners.
The processing started through vegetation surveys on site and continued through subsequent close collaboration with archaeologists and archaeobotanists. The study included vegetation surveys of the dominant communities Pinus-brutia dry forest and Maccia. Realistic 3D models were created for the most important species, which were made available to the project partners and also used in their own landscape visualisations.
By integrating plants typical for the location, the architecture is given a contextual content that makes the scene depicted more vivid and comprehensible. The technical realisation of the final scenes and the rendering of the images was carried out by the Zuse Institute Berlin. The cooperation project provides various exhibits for the current exhibition in the Pergamon Museum, of which the overall show „Pergamon – Panorama of the Ancient Metropolis“ is also a component.
