Vegetation modelling for visual simulation (Ems3D) - as part of the DBU project on Ems renaturation

In the project Perspective Living Lower Ems, renaturation measures are being developed for the last 45 river kilometres of the Ems. The project team is made up of the environmental organisations BUND Lower Saxony, NABU Lower Saxony and WWF Germany as well as the Technical University of Berlin.

In the sub-project „Visualisation“, Lenné3D, in close cooperation with the Technical University of Berlin, is creating visualisations of renaturation scenarios to enable a clear comparison between the current situation and various planned measures. At three on-site workshops, the project team’s results will be discussed and further developed with local experts and the interested public.

The project is designed to last three years and, due to the interactive planning process and the close dialogue with local stakeholders, places high methodological demands on the visualisations to be created.
